What will Happen If Air Pollution Keeps on Increasing?

Air pollution is already one of the major factors causing diseases in the world, being 2nd in India. According to a study of the Lancet Planetary Health published in 2017 stated that the unusual increase in lower respiratory diseases, lung cancer among others is because of the increase of air pollution in the country.

Outdoor pollution increase also means that the indoor air pollution also increases and results in the accumulation of PM 2.5 particles, Co2 and VOCs ( Volatile Organic Compounds) Among other pollutants.

What does the increase of air pollution mean for the upcoming generations

The impact of increasing air pollution is more dangerous than you think. If air pollution is not controlled, by 2030 the air will become so poisonous that it will be necessary to use an oxygen kit to breathe easily. Rising air pollution will also lead to premature aging

Also, There have been studies which have linked premature birth to air pollution as well.

Exposure to air pollution may disrupt a baby's development, causing them to be born unusually small. It can also cause preterm delivery, resulting in very small babies with underdeveloped bodies and lungs. Low birth weight is a risk factor for developmental delays, numerous health issues, and death after birth

Is Indoor Air Pollution More Dangerous than Outdoor Pollution?

The indoor air is 10 times more polluted than the outdoor air. Indoor air pollutants are even more damaging than outdoor pollutants. The reason is constrained areas provide a more favorable environment for pollutant build-up as compared to the outdoor areas. Many people are unaware of the fact that effect of indoor air pollution makes you look older as it has a detrimental effect on your skin. Prolonged exposure to indoor air pollutants weakens the immune system, impairs your lungs, and also makes them more susceptible to infection and diseases.

At this conjecture in time, it has become very important to monitor air pollution and air quality. Especially in India where the air pollution is so high that among the top 100 most polluted cities in the world Indiahas 12 cities.
